Grand King Hotel, Buenos Aires

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was superb, right in the heart of the city, and the staff were friendly. However, the rooms were very simple and old, with some cleanliness issues, and the dining experience left much to be desired.

The location is superb, situated right in the heart of Retiro at the corner of Lavalle & Florida, making it convenient to explore famous attractions like Calle Florida, Madero Harbor, the Obelisk, and the Casa Rosada. The rooms were clean enough, but it was disappointing that they wanted to charge us for breakfast. The service was a bit inconsistent, with some staff being very helpful while others seemed to deny everything without consulting their colleagues.

The hotel is situated in a perfect city center location, right in the middle of Lavelle and close to Florida, ideal for shopping enthusiasts. The rooms, however, had lumpy old single beds and an ancient TV, making it challenging to rest comfortably. The service felt bureaucratic without a personal touch, even when we arrived early after an overnight flight. The breakfast offered a variety of options including breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, and freshly made sandwiches. The facilities were satisfactory, though the air quality was subpar at night.
